Good morning all and welcome to the home of Everywoman Significant.
For a website focusing on the importance of building strong foundations in our lives based on the Word of God and living out our lives from that truth – what better place to start than the words of King David in Psalm 119.
How can a … person stay pure?
By obeying your word.
I have tried hard to find you—
don’t let me wander from your commands.
I have hidden your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against you
Life has its challenges, it doesn’t matter who you are, what walk of life you come from – in this life you WILL have trouble! How do we deal with these situations? Well, that would depend on what we have been absorbing into our lives.
You have probably heard the saying, ‘what goes in, must come out”?
As followers of Christ, most of us would realise the importance of His Word. Like David, somewhere in there, we understand that it holds the answers, contains the weapons, has the power to lift, encourage, unite, fight and sustain. It stops the mouth of the enemy, it carries us through the darkest night, it shows us the pathway to salvation.
And yet, what percentage of our time is actually spent ‘hiding ‘ His Word in our hearts?
I heard someone say, “If we spend the time putting the Word of God in, then when we need it most, that will be what comes out.”
As women of God, wives, sisters, friends and mothers, I would encourage you (and need you to encourage me) to make an investment of the highest priority – hide the Word in your heart.
